What's purple and striped???

No, not Barney-the-Dinosaur in a zebra suit! But that was a good guess.

With Marc and Jackie's help with the striping part, it is FINISHED!!!!!!!!!! YAY!

Not bad, if I do say so, myself!

Back to School

Every year, like so many other people, I make a HUGE fuss over my children on their first day back to school. You know the fuss I mean - new clothes, new shoes, new backpacks, and new school supplies.

This year has been a little different. For one thing, my two girls are going to DIFFERENT schools for the first time. That means they didn't even share the same first day of school because Jackie started last Wednesday. For another thing, I couldn't even BE THERE for Jackie's first day of school this year. I was summoned for Jury duty that day, so Kevin got the honors of taking those back to school pictures, in my place.

Also, today is AMANDA'S first day of High School (another BIG change)and Kevin isn't here (in person) for Amanda's first day of school.

So as you can see, this hasn't been a typical "Back-to-School" for the Whacky Websters, at all!

Fortunately, although Kevin is in Singapore (7000+ Miles away and 14 hours ahead of us); we were able to get together for Family Scriptures and Family Prayer via video and the "Skype internet phone". Wow, the marvels of technology - ain't it grand?!?!?! Just another of Heavenly Father's "tender mercies", for which I am eternally grateful!

Let the new school year begin!!!

*sigh*
It feels like yesterday I was taking these kind of pictures when they started Kindergarten...

I'll have pictures of the finished project as soon as possible!

He's Leavin' on a Jet-plane...

...But I DO know when he'll be back again!

For the next two weeks, Kev and his colleagues will be giving training classes in Singapore.

In the meantime, my heart goes with him...

Time to start my pity-party...

Give me a couple of days, and I'll get over my cheap-self...in the meantime...ignore me. haha

Bugged!!!

Just wanted to let everyone know that our home computer has been hit with a nasty virus...

I'm posting this from the computer at our local library - Thank you, Library People!!!

The home computer is in the "Computer Hospital" getting de-bugged. If you email us and we don't respond, it is NOT because we don't love you; it's because we've been BUGGED!!!

Love you all!

Sometimes the "little-guy" wins...

Utah's Department of Transportation has been working on a major road project through our area. The construction delays have been a pain, but something we all agreed to live with. The benefits of a parkway allowing easier freeway access seemed well worth the temporary inconvenience.

That is, until reality hit.

In this case, reality was the realization that the intersection from our neighborhood, across this five-lane, 40+mph parkway was NOT going to be regulated with a traffic signal. The powers that make these decisions thought that traffic on our neighborhood access-road didn't warrant a signal. Their idea of adequate was a stop-sign for the traffic crossing the parkway.

To make a long story short, the people who use that street and who would be risking their lives to cross the parkway; spoke up. We banded together and made our opinion heard. We didn't take "NO" for an answer, and made sure that we were listened to. We even took our concerns to the Governor of the State!

In the end, policy for our little part of the world was changed. A traffic signal will be going up as soon as possible.

Commuters, pedestrians, children going to and from school, and people going to and from our Church building, will be able to cross Pioneer Crossing safely.

Thanks to all who spoke up, wrote letters, and made a difference for our community.

Thanks as well to those at UDOT and the Governor's office who

saw the light
and made a better decision!!!

Three cheers for the "little-guy"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
