Funny Monday!

Well, it was a Monday to remember...

First this little kitty followed me home...

Then the Ward that Kevin is High Counselor for had a Luau for Family Home Evening. Kevin, the other High Counselors and Bishopric provided a portion of the entertainment as hula-dancers. This was one for Comedy-Central hahahahahahahahahahaha

...Take a bow, Kevin...

Happy Birthdays

Two wonderful men are having birthdays this weekend. The first is my Dad, Don Barbezat, who would have been 76 years old, today. He passed away in 2003. We miss him everyday.

The second is his "baby-brother" and best friend, my Uncle Gene whose birthday is tomorrow, Sept. 28th. Happy Birthday Uncle Gene!

Here they are together at BYU.

...and again in their Air Force uniforms... SO handsome!

Happy Birthday to the Barbezat Brothers!!! We love you both!

Three Cheers for Amanda!!!

Ok, maybe just one really BIG one!

Following in the cheering footsteps of her Auntie (my sister, Caline) and her cousin, Chelsea, Amanda tried out for the cheer squad at her school. Today was the judging and she made the team. Not only made it, but was made Co-Captain!!!

Way to go, Amanda!!! We'll be cheering for YOU from the stands!!!!

...and ANOTHER thing...

Again in the category of things that bring me joy...

I've always found joy in my niece Chelsea...maybe that's why her parents gave her the middle name "Joy" haha...

This Summer, Chelsea added another joy to my life when she and her husband Shane, welcomed their first child, Brea Lee Eckerman (July 31, 2008 *8:21am*6lbs 7oz*20 inches long).

This is my favorite picture of the happy day. If that's not a moment of pure joy, I don't know what is...

With such a proud Papa...

...and loving Mama...

...this newest "Angel-from-Heaven" can rest peacefully, knowing she's off to a great start!

Welcome to the world, Little-Brea...and welcome to the family!

Supporting NieNie Recovery...

This week I received an email announcing a bake sale to raise funds for Stephanie and Christian Nielson's recovery fund. Since I have been anxiously looking for a way in which to contribute, I jumped at the chance. I emailed Jaryn McGrath, whose idea it was to have this bake sale; and she welcomed the help.

Yesterday morning, my kitchen was turned into a bakery and I got to work. I enlisted the help of the other house elves, and we produced quite a load of goodies to take over. Jaryn had a great display set up in her front yard and had a line of customers when we pulled up. We left our cookies, cupcakes and pumpkin bread in her capable hands and went home.

Today Jaryn emailed me to say that the bake-sale had earned $400.00 for the Nielson's recovery fund. I appreciate the opportunity to do something tangible to help this family whose lives have truly touched my heart.

Thanks to Jaryn for coming up with this idea, and allowing me to play a small part.
