Thank you!

With fires raging all over the West, including one that scorched an entire mountain-side a few miles from my home; I wanted to express my gratitude.

To all those brave men and women who put everything on the line - the fire-line...

Thank you!!!
God bless each of you
and keep you safe!

Happy Father's Day!!!

A father's heart will love you at your worst...
...and his arms will hold you at your weakest!

I was blessed to have a Daddy who did this for me!

...and so are my daughters!

Happy Father's Day to the Daddy in our home
...he's just perfect for us!

It's here!!!

A few months ago, I submitted my story to the website for "Time Out for Women". I heard back from them a couple of weeks ago, notifying me that my story would be featured on their website, today.

I am so excited, grateful, and humbled to be able to share this experience with a wider audience. I sincerely feel as if Heavenly Father kept me here on earth for a reason. Part of that reason is for me to share what I've learned from the challenging experiences I had last year.

So, here's the link to their website. My article is in the "Women Like You" section entitled "Surviving on Sips".

I am thrilled to share these things with a wider audience! I hope & pray that what I learned can help someone else.

Moving Mom...

There are times in every life where you have to do "hard things"...things you know are right, but that make you unbearably sad. Yesterday was one of those times in the life of our family.

For almost four years, we've had Kevin's Mom live with us. Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's about ten years ago. As the disease progressed, we all knew the day would come when Mom would need more care than we could provide in our home. That day came, yesterday.

We were blessed to find an assisted-living facility just down the road from our house. It was just opened within the last year, and deals exclusively with memory-loss patients. It feels more like a home and less like an institution. Each resident has their own room with a private bathroom. This really is a wonderful place for Mom to live, and we are happy she is able to be so close by.

After we got her moved in and decorated her room so she'd be comfortable, Marc took these pictures of everything we'd done...and Mom in her new digs. With the staff of the residence taking care of her every need, we teased Mom that it was almost like being on a cruise-ship...almost! haha

This one's self-explanatory...ha ha

There she is...the lady of the hour!
Love you, Mom!
