I recently learned about a website called http://www.billionclicks.org . The founder of this site, Hilary Weeks, heard that we think 300 negative thoughts a day. So she got a "clicker" and tried it for a week. By the end of the week, she felt down, sad, and gloomy. Then she had the thought, "What if it works the OTHER way, too?". So the experiment changed, and so did the results. Thus a website/blog and a movement were formed.
I am all about the power of positive thinking. When I saw this website, I jumped right in and bought a clicker.
Of course since my kids and Kevin see me carrying around a bright-red clicker...clicking all day long, I had to share this great idea with them. Now they help me keep track of my "happy thoughts". It's been awesome! The other day, I logged 168!!!
I find myself looking for opportunities to think positive. I am more upbeat and cheerful all day long. I LOVE this.
You could say it's all in my mind...and you'd be right!

Can you spare $5 to help save families of disabled veterans?
We have a dear friend, Warren Price, who is a disabled combat veteran from the Iraqi conflict. He has started a foundation called "Freedom's Families". This organization helps disabled veterans and their families. It teaches them how to cope with their disabilities and stay together as families. Many Veterans' programs offer assistance to our Vets, but neglect the need to keep veterans' families together. In the following video, Warren explains Freedom's Families and what they do.
Please take a few minutes to watch this video. If you can share it with YOUR friends and family, we can reach many, many more people for this very worthy cause.
On behalf of our disabled Veterans and Freedom's Families, I thank you - with all my heart!

Xanadu revisited!
Last week, Amanda and I attending the Hale Center Theater (Orem) production of "Xanadu".
We LOVED it so much that we came home and immediately went online to purchase tickets so we could take the rest of the family to see it.
Last night was THE night. Kevin wasn't too sure he'd like it. Mom was happy to come along and enjoy a night out. Jackie "doesn't like plays", so she was determined not to like it at all.
Mandy and I were thrilled to share this hysterically funny production with our family, so we were happy to be there.
Still, Mandy was thrilled that her favorite actor, Darick J. Pead, was playing "Sonny" in this performance...
In spite of their misgivings, it wasn't long after the show started that we heard Kevin, Mom, and Jackie laughing.
A far-cry from the movie, which was considered a MAJOR box-office FLOP, this stage production is a riot. They have no problems NOT taking themselves seriously. In this intimate theater setting, the cast interacts with the audience and gets loads of laughs.
I'm putting this family home evening down in our books as a success...we definitely walked away laughing.

More favorites!
One of my favorite things to do with Amanda is attend plays. All theater productions, but especially musicals. She is SO animated and funny. Mandy really gets into the whole theater experience. She definitely makes it fun!
Tonight we went to see "Xanadu" at the Hale Center Theater in Orem. I've been trying to get over bronchitis, so I was tired, cranky, and not thrilled about going. I am SO glad I did!
Mandy has a favorite Hale Center actor named "Darick J. Pead". He played "Freddy" in "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels". He's in "Xanadu", although wasn't in tonight's performance. This was Mandy's face when she saw him in the program!
I'm especially glad I went with Mandy!
What a hoot!
I love spending time with my kids!
PS: Tomorrow I'm going prom-dress shopping with my girls!
